Our Treatment Approach
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Before your first visit, we’ll send you a new client form to complete online. This form asks about your primary concerns, allowing us to prepare for your appointment.

During Your First Appointment
Your physio will begin by discussing your concerns. If you have any relevant medical imaging results (e.g. X-ray, ultrasound, MRI), please provide these to us. Then, your physio will perform a comprehensive full-body assessment, rather than focusing only on the symptomatic area. This holistic approach helps identify underlying issues and contributes to a more accurate diagnosis. Your physio may identify dysfunctions in areas unrelated to your symptoms and will explain how these could be related to your condition.
At the end of your session, you’ll receive a summary of your assessment, including a clear explanation of your diagnosis, prognosis (expected recovery timeline), treatment options, and self-management strategies. The first appointment typically takes close to 45 minutes to complete.
Our Three-Stage Recovery Process

1. Reduce Pain and Restore Movement
In this stage, your physio will use evidence-based techniques and modalities, such as myofascial release, joint mobilization/ manipulation, dry needling, shockwave therapy, cupping, IASTM (GuaSha), neuromuscular electrical stimulation and exercise therapy, to address dysfunctions. Many clients experience instant measurable improvements (mobility, strength, balance and coordination) within a single session if the correct dysfunctions are targeted.

For most conditions, treatment will be scheduled frequently initially, on average 2 sessions per week for 2-3 weeks, and less frequently as your condition improves to allow your body to function independently without relying on treatment.
2. Improve Coordination and Strength
Once pain subsides and mobility improves, you’ll begin a tailored exercise program for at least 3 months to enhance strength and coordination. This will improve your overall resilience to reduce the risk of future injuries.

Treatment sessions will typically be scheduled 1-2 times per month to monitor progress and address any residual pain or mobility issues. You’ll also have access to an online wellness platform to track your exercise progress and receive remote feedback from your physio.

**This stage is very important, because you do not experience much symptoms, does not mean your condition has fully resolved. It is not uncommon for clients to misinterpret this and cease treatment only to reinjure themselves with greater severity.

3. Prevention and Wellness
Life is full of stress and triggers which can lead to physical dysfunctions. As they accumulate, relapses or new conditions can occur. Your physio is expert at detecting underlying dysfunctions, just like a car mechanic detecting mechanical faults in a car before it breaks down.

It is, therefore, recommended to see your physio regularly (usually every 4-6 weeks) to help detect and address issues early, maintaining optimal function and preventing future problems.
